Recovery Doesn’t Stop When You Leave the Hospital

For many stroke survivors, leaving the hospital is just the beginning of the recovery journey.

Physical, occupational and speech therapy can play an important role in rebuilding strength, mobility, communication and independence. But much of the work of returning to everyday life happens at home.

Parkinson’s can create similar challenges. Changes in balance, mobility, coordination and daily functioning may make familiar tasks increasingly difficult.

That’s where dependable in-home support can make a meaningful difference.

Our caregivers can provide the day-to-day assistance, encouragement and companionship that help clients stay engaged with their routines and remain connected to their care plan.

How In-Home Care Can Support Recovery

Every person’s needs are different. Our caregivers work within the direction of the client’s healthcare team and family to provide practical, compassionate support.

Transportation & Care Coordination

Keeping up with medical appointments, therapy sessions and other important commitments can be challenging.

A caregiver can help with:

  • Transportation to appointments
  • Appointment reminders
  • Organizing daily routines
  • Communicating important observations to family members
  • Preparing for upcoming appointments
  • Accompanying clients to community activities and support groups

The goal is simple: make it easier to stay engaged with the recovery process.

Assistance With Daily Activities

Recovery and neurological conditions can make personal care more difficult.

Our caregivers can assist with everyday activities such as:

  • Bathing
  • Grooming
  • Dressing
  • Toileting
  • Mobility around the home
  • Meal preparation
  • Light housekeeping
  • Laundry

We provide assistance respectfully and with an emphasis on preserving each client’s privacy, dignity and independence.

Support With Home Exercise Routines

Rehabilitation often involves exercises and activities that clients are expected to continue between therapy sessions.

While caregivers don’t provide physical, occupational or speech therapy, they can provide reminders, encouragement and supervision as clients follow the routines recommended by their healthcare professionals.

Having someone nearby can provide reassurance and help clients stay consistent with their daily routine.

Safer, More Comfortable Living at Home

Balance and mobility challenges can increase the risk of falls.

Caregivers can help identify everyday obstacles and keep frequently used areas of the home organized and free of unnecessary hazards.

We can also assist with daily routines recommended by family members and healthcare professionals to make the home environment easier to navigate.

Meal Preparation & Nutrition Support

Preparing meals can become challenging after a stroke or as Parkinson’s symptoms affect mobility and coordination.

Caregivers can:

  • Grocery shop
  • Prepare meals
  • Clean up after meals
  • Encourage regular meals and hydration
  • Follow dietary instructions provided by the client or healthcare professional

For clients who need extra assistance during meals, having a caregiver nearby can provide additional support and reassurance.

Companionship Matters, Too

Recovery isn’t only physical.

Changes in mobility and independence can cause people to spend more time alone. That can lead to frustration, loneliness and loss of confidence.

A caregiver provides more than assistance with household tasks.

They can provide conversation, encouragement, social interaction and a familiar presence throughout the day.

Whether that’s sharing a cup of coffee, taking a walk when appropriate, playing a game, helping with a favorite hobby or simply being there to talk, meaningful companionship can make the day feel more manageable.

Support for the Family, Too

When someone you love has experienced a stroke or is living with Parkinson’s, the entire family is affected.

Spouses, children and other family members often find themselves trying to balance:

  • Work
  • Children and household responsibilities
  • Medical appointments
  • Personal care
  • Transportation
  • Meals
  • Medication schedules
  • Overnight supervision
  • Their own health and well-being

You shouldn’t have to do everything yourself.

In-home caregiving can give family members the confidence that someone dependable is there to provide support when they can’t be.

You remain the family. We help with the caregiving.

Flexible Care That Fits Your Family

Your family’s needs may change over time.

In-home care can be arranged for:

  • A Few Hours a Week — When you primarily need help with errands, companionship, meals or appointments.
  • Several Days a Week — For clients who need regular assistance with personal care and daily activities.
  • Daily Care — When greater support is needed to remain safely at home.
  • Temporary Care — For families who need additional support during a period of recovery or transition.
  • Long-Term Care — For individuals who continue to need assistance with everyday activities.

We’ll work with you to determine what level of support makes sense for your situation.

Our Goal: Help You Stay Home

Home is familiar.

It’s where your favorite chair is. Where your memories were made. Where your routines are comfortable.

After a stroke—or as Parkinson’s changes what someone can do independently—remaining at home may require additional support.

Our caregivers help make that possible.

We provide compassionate, dependable, non-medical assistance designed to help clients maintain as much independence and quality of life as possible while giving families greater peace of mind.

You Don’t Have to Figure It Out Alone

If you’re caring for a loved one after a stroke or helping a family member living with Parkinson’s, you may not know exactly how much help is needed.

That’s okay.

Start with a conversation.

We’ll listen to your situation, learn what challenges your family is facing and discuss what type of in-home support may be appropriate.
